The Ferrari e Salimbeni Foundation

The Ferrari e Salimbeni Foundation was established on 03.08.2021 and is officially registered in the Regional Register of Private Legal Entities in the Veneto Region, recognized and supervised by it since August 2021.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization, and its sole purpose is to encourage, support, and promote education, culture, and studies with particular reference to the world of opera and concert music in general, melodrama, opera theaters with their orchestras, opera singers and those who aspire to become one, as well as conservatories and music and singing schools; specifically, the Foundation’s area of operation will be the Veneto Region.

The activity of the Foundation consists of managing its assets, property, and rights, in order to allocate its net operating results, in whole or in part, in the form of scholarships, study awards, or masterclasses, to the cultural, educational, and professional development of young opera singers studying at music schools, conservatories, or with renowned teachers, as well as young directors and scriptwriters for the production of operatic performances, whether operas or concerts, and aspiring orchestra professors and conductors.

The first Board of Directors of the Foundation is composed as follows:
- Dr. Ferruccio Salimbeni, President
- Dr. Ernesto Serraglia, Director.

The Foundation also aims to foster and promote closer collaboration with other Foundations or opera entities responsible for managing opera theaters, provide contributions to theaters and opera entities without profit-making purposes, and make donations to any institution or entity without profit-making purposes whose primary goal or corporate purpose is the development of opera.

The Founding Members

Dr. Maurizio FERRARI
Dr. Ferruccio SALIMBENI

The Foundation was born out of the great passion for opera of the two founding members, Dr. Maurizio Ferrari and Dr. Ferruccio Salimbeni, both managers of leading international companies. Enlightened entrepreneurs known for their foresight and humanity, they have always reserved an important place for opera in their lives, despite their busy schedules and responsibilities.

Despite their numerous work commitments, they always found a way to "chase" the operas they loved most around the world, becoming refined connoisseurs.

This great passion led them to establish a Foundation for music with the goal of providing financial support, through scholarships and other projects, for the training and careers of young singers so that they could continue their artistic preparation.

A bitter fate did not give Dr. Maurizio Ferrari the opportunity to see his project realized, as it became a reality a few months after his death on 14.02.2021.

Dr. Ferruccio Salimbeni immediately carried forward the Foundation’s project as conceived by the two founders.

Several events have already been organized, including a concert in honor of Dr. Ferrari at the Teatro Malibran in Venice, the awarding of scholarships and study prizes in collaboration with the Circolo della Lirica di Padova, and the performance of Rossini’s opera “Cambiale di Matrimonio” in the evocative Sala dei Giganti at the University of Padova.
